The Role of the Individual

When faced with the enormous (e.g. the future), and possessed of a feeling that it needs to change, an individual doesn't seem very important. This is far from the truth.

There are, as we've seen, good reasons to learn how to face the future and the anxieties it brings. However, if the anxieties are not obviously fixable by you alone, it's easy to ask "Well, what's the point?!".

As it happens, there is growing evidence that social networks (of various types) have great potential and it doesn't take many people to harness it. This section of the book takes a look at networks, how they work and the fundamental role individuals play in using them to generate change.
